Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and Earth Wide Service Limited (“Sitelens”, “we”, “us”), which operates the Sitelens SEO audit service at sitelens.dev (the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy (which forms part of them) and you acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you use Sitelens on behalf of a company or client, you confirm you are authorised to bind them, and “you” includes them.

• You must be at least 16 years old to use Sitelens.
• Give us accurate information, including a working email address, and keep it up to date.
• Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account; tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.
• One person per account. Don’t share accounts or create multiple free accounts to get around plan limits.

Sitelens crawls the websites you add with our own crawler, SitelensBot, analyses technical and on-page SEO signals (status codes, redirects, titles, meta descriptions, headings, canonicals, links and more), and produces audit reports with issues, scores and recommended fixes. It also offers a single-page checker with an optional target keyword.

Sitelens relies only on what its own crawler finds. We do not use third-party ranking, traffic or backlink data.

Occasional single-page checks of public pages, such as a quick look at a competitor’s page, are fine. Crawling third-party sites at any meaningful scale is not.

The robots.txt setting

SitelensBot respects robots.txt by default. Each site has a setting to ignore robots.txt so you can audit pages you block from search engines. You may turn this setting off only for sites you own or are authorised to audit. By turning it off you confirm that you have that authority, and you are responsible for that decision.

If a site owner tells us that you audited their site without authority, we may ask you to show your authorisation, and we may stop the crawl, delete the site from your account, or suspend your account.

So that you know what is done in your name, SitelensBot:

• identifies itself with the user-agent Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; SitelensBot/1.0; +https://sitelens.dev/bot);
• fetches only public pages over HTTP(S), like a search engine;
• respects robots.txt by default;
• uses around 5 concurrent requests per audit;
• refuses private and internal network addresses;
• does not submit forms, log in, or execute JavaScript.

We may throttle, pause or block any crawl, for example if a site owner objects, a site appears to be struggling, or we suspect misuse. Read more on About SitelensBot.

You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. In short, you must not use Sitelens to overload or attack websites, to scrape them for data harvesting, to probe their security, or to break the law or anyone’s rights. You must not attempt to get around plan limits, rate limits or our crawler’s safeguards.

Current plans and limits are shown on our pricing page. At the time of writing:

We may change features and limits of the Free plan at any time. For paid plans, we will give you notice of price changes before they apply to your next renewal, so you can cancel first.

• Currency and taxes. Prices are in US dollars. Taxes are added where applicable.
• Automatic renewal. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, and we charge your card on file, until you cancel.
• Cancellation. You can cancel at any time in Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep your plan until then, after which your account moves to the Free plan.
• Receipts. We email a receipt for every payment.
• Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may move your account to the Free plan until payment succeeds.

Card payments are processed by our payment provider; Sitelens never stores your full card number or security code.

If you are not happy with Sitelens, you can ask for a full refund of your first payment within 14 days of making it by emailing [email protected]. After 14 days, and for renewals, payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. Cancelling stops future charges but does not refund the current period.

Nothing in this section limits refund or withdrawal rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

Audit results reflect what SitelensBot could fetch at the time of the crawl, without running JavaScript. They may miss issues or flag things that are intentional on your site. You decide which changes to make and are responsible for them; test changes before deploying them to a live site.

You own the data you put into Sitelens and the reports produced for you. You give us a limited licence to store and process it only to provide, secure and support the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. We don’t publish your audits.

You can export your data at any time: your account data as JSON from Settings, and individual audits as CSV on Pro and Agency plans.

Sitelens, its software, checks, scoring, design and brand belong to Earth Wide Service Limited. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under these Terms. You may share reports and exports with your team and clients. You may not copy, resell or reverse engineer the Service, or use it to build a competing product.

We work to keep Sitelens available and accurate, but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. Audits may be delayed or interrupted, for example by maintenance, by the target site, or by network issues. We may improve, change or retire features. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give paid users reasonable notice and refund any prepaid period not used.

You can stop using Sitelens and delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion is immediate and removes your sites, audits and stored checks.

We may suspend or terminate your account, or block specific crawls, if you breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if required by law, or if your use risks harm to other websites, to us or to other users. Where reasonable we will tell you why first. If we terminate a paid account without cause, we will refund the unused part of the current period.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost rankings, traffic, profits, revenue or data, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50.

You are responsible for claims arising from sites you audit without authority, and you agree to indemnify us against losses arising from your breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The courts of Hong Kong have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may also bring proceedings in your local courts where those laws allow. Before going to court, please email [email protected]; most problems can be resolved quickly.

We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email or in the product at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Sitelens after that, the new Terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can cancel and delete your account.

• These Terms, with the policies they refer to, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
• If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
• If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we haven’t waived it.
• You may not transfer your account or these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them to a successor operating Sitelens.
